music to my ears (reprise)

TIM
A IS FOR "ALWAYS"
Two Ns?
"NICE" TO HAVE YOU "NEAR."
E IS FOR...I’ll get back to that one.
M IS FOR "MUSIC TO MY EARS."

ANNE MARIE enters. TIM, writing down the lyrics he just thought of, is unaware of her presence in the room. ANNE MARIE seems enchanted by TIM’S guitar-playing and singing.

TIM
(picking up his guitar again, not noticing ANNE MARIE)
THE OTHER A IS FOR "ALLURING."
R IS FOR "ROMANTICALLY."
I IS FOR "INTOXICATING."
AH, I’VE GOT SOMETHING FOR E:
E, X, Q, U, I, S, I, T, E
LA LA LA LA LA
A, N, N,...

Finally, TIM looks up and sees ANNE MARIE. He’s a little embarrassed but also very pleased that she’s there.

TIM
(stopping abruptly, catching himself in the middle of spelling ANNE MARIE’S name)

...and that’s enough for today.
